With decades in the real estate industry, Mr. Ratner discussed his experiences, both positive and negative, leading up to his current role as Executive Chairman of Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC). Mr. David highlighted a career full of achievements and innovative projects, including Barclays Center, the B2 building, which will be the world's tallest tower built using modular construction techniques when completed, Brooklyn's MetroTech Center, New York by Gehry at 8 Spruce Street and the New York Times building.

The Women's Leadership Initiative Sold-Out Inaugural Program Features an Update from the NYCEDC
ULI New York hosted special guest, Miriam Harris on the morning of April 24 at Shearman & Sterling, Attendees were brought up to date on the latest projects from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). [Read more] Ms. Harris, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Transactions at NYCEDC, spoke about her work, particularly her involvement as the Real Estate Lead for the Cornell University Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island. The presentation featured over 25 active projects spearheaded by Ms. Harris, including the current Seward Park Mixed-Use Development RFP for over 1.5 million square feet of new development on the Lower East Side, The Applied Sciences Project which led to the successful designation of Cornell University & the Technion of Israel to develop an approximately 2 million square foot graduate engineering campus Roosevelt Island as well as the 62 acre Willets Point Project in Queens. Ellen Sinreich, Chair of the WLI Program Committee, discussed the goals and mission of WLI prior to introducing Ms. Harris.
